Until someone gets on that molecular transporter, we’re going to have to use cardboard to mail packages. But with your help, cardboard can be reused for quite a few different projects. Here are just five ways to use your ugly box.
Check for Leaks
If your car is leaking, slide some cardboard under it so you’ll know what is leaking and where. The downside is that it can only be used a certain number of times, and should be kept in the garage.
If you’re sending something, why buy another cardboard box when you can use one you already own. Simply rewrap the cardboard over your new item and tape it up.
Even a little cardboard can be placed under the legs of furniture to save wood floors and make moving easier. It can also be used after having carpets cleaned if you don’t like getting the soap on the bottom of your furniture. Just place down the cardboard first, and when everything is dry, remove it.
Cut down the cardboard and make a custom storage unit. Not only will it keep the cardboard out of the dump, but it’ll give your wallet some relief as well. Just two layers of cardboard can take some weight. Use colored tape and four or five layers to make a stand for your monitor, or some shelf space for under your dorm bed.
Want to keep your plants healthy in the harsh winter months? Put cardboard around it to help insulation. Or place it on top of weeds to make them wilt from sun deprivation.
