Valentine’s Inspired Essential Oil Blends

Creating your own essential oil blend l is a great way to create the perfect recipe for what you need. Coming up with essential oil blends that pique both of your interests intimately, enhance energy, relieve tension, or relax the senses is a fun activity that helps you learn about yourself and how to balance. Here are our  Valentine’s Day-inspired essential oil blend recipes that are sure to please everyone. Make them for yourself or gift them.

What’s really fun about the essential oils in these blends is you don’t need to limit them to just massage oils. You can put them in your diffuser, in a bubble bath, in a room spray, and so much more! Even a vacuum! Check out this past article about using your vacuum as a diffuser. You can choose which recipes fit your mood, alter them to your liking, and just run with it.

You can use any carrier oil you like for the base of these recipes like sweet almond, avocado, olive oil, etc. Feel free to make larger or smaller quantities to suit your needs!

Tranquility Blend

This is a lovely blend that reduces worry, circulation thoughts and negativity, and the mental effects that come along with nervous thinking. There is no better mood killer than worrying about work and other stressful situations. Tranquility will help you achieve mental relaxation, stress relief, and overall tension relief. It’s perfect for those who are overworked and just want to enjoy a lovely evening with their loved one.

Here’s what you need to make Tranquility (3% dilution – aka 18 drops of essential oil)

• 4 drops bergamot
• 4 drops sweet orange
• 4 drops grapefruit
• 4 drops patchouli
• 2 drops ylang-ylang

Sensational Blend

This is an amazing blend to massage onto the inner thighs for some particularly fun bedroom activities. It’s cooling yet warming and gives the skin a nice tingling sensation that boosts romance, sensuality, and intimacy with your loved one. I highly recommend it trying it out!

Here’s what you need to make Sensational (5% dilution – aka 30 drops of essential oil)

• 1oz carrier oil (recommend sweet almond)
• 8 drops peppermint
• 8 drops black pepper
• 4 drops ylang-ylang
• 4 drops geranium
• 3 drops bergamot
• 3 drops jasmine

Tame the Tension Blend

My personal favorite! It’s a busy and demanding world we live in and the effects of stress, overwhelm, and the constant hustle and bustle in our everyday lives wear us down. Tension builds in our neck and shoulders making us feel uptight, grumpy, and overall unhappy. This blend not only loosens tense muscles but also eases a tense mind allowing you to relax and focus on what’s important – a relaxing night with your significant other!

Here’s what you need to make Tame the Tension (3% dilution – aka 18 drops of essential oil)

• 4 drops peppermint
• 2 drops eucalyptus
• 2 drops rosemary
• 2 drops spearmint
• 2 drops lavender
• 2 drops basil
• 1 drops cinnamon leaf
• 1 drops chamomile

Mint Foot Scrub and Soak: Reduce stress, anxiety, and inflammation

When I’m feeling overwhelmed with too much on my plate you’ll find me each night doing a foot scrub and soak. I’ve seen such great benefits from doing it and it has become my therapy. Plus it is super easy to do and doesn’t take much time. As the holiday season starts to approach I find myself doing this more and more.

Foot scrubs are a great way to relax your whole body and get the benefits of foot care. If you don’t have time to take a bath you can pretty much get the same benefits by doing a foot scrub and soak. You don’t need a tub, so it’s very convenient to do anytime and anywhere.

Every time I do a scrub and soak, my S&S (think R&R), I feel a difference in just 20 minutes of soaking my feet! I notice I feel less stressed and more relaxed. The nights when I do this, my sleep is vastly improved. I get to sleep easier and don’t wake up as often in the middle of the night.

What you need

  •  Large container of any kind big enough to soak your feed in.
  • Your favorite foot scrub (I opt for Deep Steep’s Candy Mint Therapeutic Foot Scrub)
  • Warm water (not too hot)

If you want you can add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil. I like Lavender. Lavender gives a soothing and calming effect which aids in relaxation. Great if you do this around bedtime.

You could also add a few tablespoons of baking soda to help with detoxification and this will also soften your skin.

Steps

  • Add your essential oils and baking soda (if you choose) to a tub of warm water.
  • Find a relaxing area to do the soak because you need to do it for at least 20-30 minutes.
  • Take the foot scrub and rub it into your clean feed, massaging and paying special attention to any trigger areas.

Place your feet in the tub and relax!
