When I think of Summer I think of swimming, afternoon sun soaks, and my Aunt’s mint tea. This taste so refreshing on a hot summer day. So as I enjoyed a glass this past weekend, I thought I bet there are others who would love this recipe for celebrating the upcoming 4th of July. The crisp mint, the juicy lemons….oh so refreshing.
An hour from refreshing summer joy…
- 12 Bags of Yogi Refreshing Mint Tea Single Bags
- 2 Quarts of boiling water
- 10 Sprigs of Mint
- 2 Slicked Lemons in quarters
I use Yogi Refreshing Mint Tea because the taste is divine and this specific blend has Green Tea Extract and Cinnamon Bark with Ginger and Peppermint Leaf. It is the perfect blend. You can use another mint tea, but I’ve yet to find one that compares to this blend.
Don’t use a plastic container, invest in a nice glass pitcher, your body will thank you!
If you are looking to punch up this tasty tea, you can always throw in a splash of Vodka or an afternoon cocktail.
You can put sugar in this recipe if you wish, but I would avoid it.
In a large teapot pour the boiling water over the 12 tea bags and allow it to steep for 20 minutes.
Pour the freshly brewed tea (sans the tea bags) into your glass container and place in the refrigerator for an hour or until ready to serve.
To serve, place mint sprigs in the bottom of the glass along with a slice of lemon and pour the tea over these ingredients.
Place some ice cubes into the glass as well to keep it chilled.
Serve to guests or family and watch them enjoy!
This recipe serves 8, so double if you want a batch that lasts for a while.
