Pumpkin Please! 3 DIY Pumpkin Facials to Make at Home

If you want naturally glowing skin you need to take proper care of it. Here’s a secret: the best skin food you can use this fall is pumpkin. We are all about pumpkins this fall. The next time you buy a pumpkin, don’t just eat it, reserve some for a DIY pumpkin at home facial.

Pumpkins contain retinoic acid, antioxidants, beta-carotene, and vitamins A, C, and E. Talk about powerful! This vegetable isn’t just for your latte, so reap (yes, that was a fall pun) all its benefits this season and make your own mask. Here are three of our favorites.

PUMPKIN SKIN RESTORATIVE MASK

Benefits of this Mask
This mask maximizes moisture and restores balance. The raw honey locks in moisture and lightens dark spots. The healing frankincense essential oil acts as an astringent that reduces pore’s appearance and can also aid in the reduction of acne. The egg in this mixture nourishes, hydrates, and moisturizes dull skin. The best use of the egg in this recipe depends on the skin type you have. If you have dry, flaky skin only use the egg yolk and if you have oily skin only use the egg white.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 2 tablespoons fresh pumpkin puree
  • 2 teaspoons raw honey
  • 1 egg (read benefits and select which part of the egg is best for you in this mask)
  • 3 drops of frankincense essential oil

Instructions

  • Beat 1 egg into the fresh pumpkin puree.
  • Mix in the two teaspoons of raw honey into the mixture.
  • Mix in the few drops of frankincense essential oil to this mask.
  • Finally, store the mask in the fridge or apply immediately on clean skin and leave on face for 15 to 20 minutes max. Rinse with lukewarm water and after the skin is cleansed rinse with ice cold water.

PUMPKIN AND WALNUT SCRUB
